when does a small business employer NOT have to report an employees wages and taxes?

Question by jamzesmom: when does a small business employer NOT have to report an employees wages and taxes?
Like is there a limit to what she has to pay someone..like 600.00 a year? She says I am considered casual labor and as long as my wages dont exceed 600.00 she doesnt have to pay taxes and neither do I…This is a small bookstore. That I no longer work at by the way because she wanted to pay me 100 percent “store credit”.

If you are an employee, they must take out taxes and give you a W-2 at the end of the year no matter how little you make.

If you work as an independent contractor, they only have to give you a 1099 if they pay you $ 600 or more in a calendar year. You still are required to report it on your tax return though if you made over $400, or if you file a return for any other reason.

Q&A: is there somewhere online that i can just check my credit score not my credit report?

Question by macgrl80: is there somewhere online that i can just check my credit score not my credit report?

i dont want to sign up for anything that is a free trial either i had problems with that before. i don’t mind paying for it but i want it to be a one time only charge

Answer by ESweetPea

No, not really.

They’ll give you the credit report for free, but what you’re looking for is a “beacon score” or FICO score or something like that.

For that, they generally charge, like, 8 bucks or something.

It’s kind of a scam, but whatever.

They know the score is what you really want to know, so they either make you sign up for something or pay them or do something so they get paid.

Free report, yes.

Free score, doubt it.

It will take is up to 6 months for your FICO score to go up if you just paid off all your bills. Now if you have been staying on top of your bills and paid them when you was suppose, then your score will go up in 3 months.

How can you get an actual free credit report off the internet if you dont own a credit card?

Question by Robert S: How can you get an actual free credit report off the internet if you dont own a credit card?

Best answer:

Answer by Steve P
Go to the Federal Trade Commission website. By law, you are entitled to one free report each 12 months. You’ll set up a user ID and a password. The report won’t give you “scores”, but it will show accounts, histories, inquires, etc. Just look for errors, and seek to correct incorrect information. You can’t remove factual history, just work to let it age-off.

What’s a good effective way to establish good credit without hurting your report?

Question by Mike D: What’s a good effective way to establish good credit without hurting your report?
with inquiries? I got a new car, but even though it’s under my name, my father co-signed since I have “limited credit”. I have my student loans and now my car loan to help establish credit, I know that will be big once it’s paid off……but I won’t to establish more WITHOUT having to worry about bringing my score down?

Will my score go down for a while or just temporarily?

Best answer:

Answer by Akbar B
Your score goes primarily by how promptly you make payments on your loans. If you are late your score will plummet like a rock, and if you pay on time it will keep shooting up. Good luck.
